  • Location: The General Campus, Ottawa Hospital

  • You will be admitted to the hospital on the same morning as the surgery.

  • Laparoscopic technique is most commonly used.

  • Surgery takes approximately three to four hours.

Laparoscopic Technique: Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy

  • Laparoscopic nephrectomy is the most used surgical technique.

  • Three small incisions for surgical instruments.

  • One lower abdominal incision approximately three to four inches in length to remove the kidney.
